Modernizing Scientific Discovery: Transforming UX for a Large-Scale Search Platform

As a Senior User Experience Consultant, I led UX modernization efforts for a large-scale scientific search platform designed to support researchers, analysts, and technical professionals navigating extensive scientific content and data resources. The initiative focused on improving usability, streamlining navigation, and enhancing the overall efficiency of the user experience within a highly complex information environment.

The project began with a comprehensive evaluation of existing product workflows and user interaction patterns. Through detailed analysis of the platform’s structure and usability challenges, I identified key pain points that impacted content discoverability, navigation clarity, and task efficiency. These findings informed a strategic redesign of the information architecture, creating a more intuitive organizational framework that allowed users to locate relevant scientific content more quickly and effectively.

To support the modernization process, I developed user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes that translated business and technical requirements into user-centered design solutions.
